Family Reunion

Volume 1, Number 1   January 1, 2007
   Reunion Highlights

We will try and offer a family experience second to none.  Being an X-3rd generation Illinois Beckett,  I think I remember what is expected, at a party to have fun,  south of the "Windy"!  And  now,  being a New Yorker,  I know what to offer to have a good time just west of the "Big Apple".

To really get a handle on this years "Beckett Fest",  you  must go to the internet and visit www.thebecketts.com, and click on the link leading you to "Beckett Fest 2007".  Here you will find out what attractions await you and activities which are planned for the event.  There will be activities and events for all types of interests and age groups.

To kick off the festivities for those of you who wish to participate, we will be having a Real Train Ride, followed by  a cook out fit for a king, with music and dancing, swimming and fireworks @dusk..  You can lounge at the pool, in the garden, or play billiards pool or darts in the full service bar/theater room.

For those of you arriving early or staying for several days, we have planned activities such as Wine Tours, Fishing in the Erie Canal, Seneca Lake, or Lake Ontario.  We also have trips planned for Niagara Falls, Eastman
Children Museum, the Seneca Zoo, and shopping at the local outlet Mall.

On the Beckett Fest 2007 web pages you will  find maps and information on local places to visit, bed & breakfast, hotels, motels, amusement parks, and site seeing.

We would like for the family members attending, to bring family photographs and family information so we can enter the information into the Beckett Family Tree.

Quote!

"You only have one chance at this, so make it count, enjoy life, patch up differences, and have a good time!".

Short Story

I was born in a time when NO Beckett came into this world with a sliver spoon in his or her mouth.  Started work at the age of 7,  finished up my high school education after joining the military at age 17, married prior to reaching my 21st birthday.  I did not start my college education until age 31, and by my 35th birthday had 5 children.

Today! I thank God for my 5 children, my 6 grandchildren, and my gorgeous Spanish bride of 43 years.  I thank God's blessing for being part of this very diverse Beckett family.

Always remember;  "It's Nice to be important, but it's more important to be Nice!"
